Privacy Policy
What information Kete handles, why, and the choices people have about it.
Who we are
Kete provides guest sign-in software to businesses such as salons. This policy covers two groups of people: the businesses that hold Kete accounts, and the guests who sign in at those businesses.
Businesses: what we collect
- Account details: business name, web address (for example neequa.kete.tz), login email and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself).
- What you add: logo, colours, slogan, footer links and price list.
- Billing status: plan and trial dates.
- Basic technical records needed to run and protect the service, such as request logs.
We use this to provide your account, keep it secure, and contact you about the service. We do not sell it.
Guests: what the business collects through Kete
When you sign in at a business that uses Kete, that business is responsible for your information and Kete handles it on the business's behalf. The sign-in form collects your name, phone number, the reason for your visit, optionally an ID number and where you are coming from, and your check-in and check-out times.
ID scanning: if you scan your ID card to fill in the form, the photo is read in the computer's memory to find your name and ID number, then thrown away. It is not saved and it is not logged.
Your details are kept in that business's own visitor log, separate from every other business on Kete. Other businesses cannot see them.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare carries traffic to and from Kete and protects it from attacks. It sees technical information such as IP addresses.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces the pages use. Your browser downloads them from Google, which receives your IP address; no cookies are set.
Both may process data outside Tanzania. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while the account is open and deleted within 30 days of closing (see the Terms of Service). Guest entries are kept for as long as the business keeps its visitor log; the business can delete entries.
How we protect it
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, each business's data held separately, uploads checked before processing, limits on repeated requests, and strict browser security settings.
Your rights
Under Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, you can ask to see the information held about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you can object to how it is used. Guests should ask the business they visited first; we will help the business respond. You can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission.
